Local Sites

downton cottageFirst and foremost, the web site of my very own village of Downton in Wiltshire. Situated on the River Avon at the Wiltshire and Hampshire border, the village is the ideal base for all walks featured on the site. (Picture from www.downton.org.uk)

downton crossThis second featured site is also about the village of Downton. Whilst the above site features present day Downton, this site, Downtonweb, is a very well put together pictorial and factual history of the village making superb use of photographs from as far back as the Victorian era and right through the twentieth century. I am sure this will be a very popular site for both residents and visitors alike, and of extra interest to those who used to live here years ago. (Picture from Downtonweb.com)
